I was up for a pretty sweet writing gig.
One of those New Yahk City writing gigs I had seen on TV as a kid growing up in the middle of the woods. What’s better; it was a gig that was perfectly within the crosshairs of my aptitudes. Without going into much detail, I can say it involved writing puns, riddles, and structured word play around historical curiosities. Trivia wrapped in a puzzle. Great pay, benefits, and just enough travel. They’d mentioned Pasadena in the interview. I’ve never been to Pasadena. I’ve never been to California. I’d been to one of its Pizza Kitchens in a mall once, and that was pretty good. But I was so god damn nervous in my interview. I had so much sweat in my palms that I dared not turn them upward lest small birds start bathing in them. Upon meeting the team conducting the interview it was clear I had even less of a reason to be so anxious. They were energetic, funny, and gregarious company. Creative professionals that loved what they did and that were clearly good at it. Good human beings with great smiles. Why was I so nervous?…
My Girlfriend recently came back from shooting Raul Penaranda’s new collection in NYC at Fashion week. Check out her pictures. She’s cool, I’ve seen her butt like ten times.
My friend Jess got caught in a Getty Image this week at a fashion show in NYC. (I wrote about her in ‘Do The Speak.’)
